-
- This program can collect the messages from an Echo message base
- into a text file which allows the SYSOP to set them aside as a
- library for reference and to keep on top of his disk space prob-
- lems. It also allows the user to use a text processor to search
- for key words or phrases.
-
- To use you can either just type "SAVECHO" at the prompt and answer
- the prompts or you can use the command line, either from the
- prompt or in a batch file, to enter the information in the form:
-
- SAVECHO S# L# H# TARGET.FIL Y/N n#
-
- S# Is the SYSTEM??.BBS file that has the path to the
- message area to capture.
-
- L# The number to start the capture at.
-
- H# The number to stop at.
-
- TARGET.FIL File to put the messages into. Defaults to
- 'TEMP.TXT' in the current directory.
-
- Y/N Delete messages automatically? Defaults to 'N'
-
- n# If deleting messages, how many to delete.
- (Defaults to H#.)
-
-
- If you use the prompts, (you just type 'SAVECHO' with no command line
- parameters) the PATH will have to be the full written path.
-
- This program is different from PIXIE and PULLMAIL in that:
-
- 1) It will delete the 'SEEN-BY:' lines.
- 2) It will also delete the ' * Via Fido' lines.
- 3) It will also delte the '?' lines in older Echo Mail
- 4) It will skip over Private Messages and not include them.
- 5) It will delete a selected range of messages.
-
- Your comments and suggestions are welcome. However with a new
- version of Fido coming out soon I'm not thrilled about the idea of
- spending too much time on this until I get a chance to see enough
- of the new version's messages to figure out how to force the word
- wrap.
-
- This program is released to Fido SYSOPs for the use on their
- boards provided the Copyright notice is not removed nor is there any
- attempt to sell it.
